VOSA – The\u00a0Vehicle and Operator Services Agency <\/a>have released special notice 3-2013 for the MOT test<\/p>\n

This includes many new item now to be included in the MOT test. \u00a0 The item can be found in the list below:<\/p>\n

Annex A: List of New Testable Components<\/p>\n

For Class 4, 5 & 7 vehicles
\n– Headlamp levelling and cleaning devices when fitted for HID or LED headlamps
\n– Main beam \u2018tell-tale\u2019
\n– Battery (including batteries for electric or hybrid vehicles)
\n– Electrical wiring and connectors
\n– Trailer electrical socket security and damage
\n– Operation of 13-pin trailer electrical sockets using an approved trailer socket tester
\n– Operation of the steering lock (where fitted) including a malfunction warning in respect of an
\nelectronic steering lock
\n– Electronic power steering malfunction indicator lamp
\n– Electronic parking brake control and malfunction indicator lamp
\n– Electronic Stability Control (ESC) components, including the switch (if fitted) and
\nmalfunction warning
\n– Brake fluid warning lamp illuminated or inoperative
\n– Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
\n– SRS components including airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners, seat belt load limiters and
\nSRS malfunction warning lamp
\n– Engine mountings
\n– Speedometer
\n– Indirect vision devices (where they replace obligatory mirrors)<\/p>\n
