Welcome to DG Motor Services
We are a long established, family run, vehicle repair garage based in Wellingborough, Northants.
The business was started in 1977 by Dominic Gardner and his wife Jenny, who have since been joined by their son Toby, and daughter Frankie. We also have 2 other mechanics – Joe and Robert.
We carry out on-site MOT Testing, servicing and repairs to all makes and models of cars and light vans, but specialise in the Volkswagen/Audi/Seat group of vehicles.
In 1977 Dominic and Jenny established DG Motor Services from their garage in Chequers Lane and, as the business grew, subsequently moved to the old Ellis and Everard Premises in Commercial Way, Wellingborough in 1979. When this was scheduled for redevelopment as the extended car park for the Police Station and the entrance to the Castle Theatre they were forced to move out in 1985, but luckily were able to acquire the premises the business now operates from.
In the early 1980’s Dominic designed and developed the Phoenix Trike which was sold for over 20 years in both kit form and ready built. The Phoenix Trike business was sold on about 10 years ago and he now just focuses on the garage business which remains extremely busy.
In 1998 Toby joined the business full time, after spending many years working on Saturdays and school holidays learning his trade. Frankie joined us in 2000 as an apprentice mechanic.
In 2007 we started a programme of improvements to the premises starting with a complete new roof and cladding. This was followed the next year with a complete rewire of the premises. In 2010 we replaced the front fence and in 2011 we had new signage. In 2012 we installed a new mezzanine floor to accomodate the new, larger office.
